SOAR Chapter 30-18 Increases Donations to the Needy

One of the purposes of the Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees (SOAR) is to improve the communities in which we live.

SOAR Chapter 30-18 is composed primarily of retirees from USW Local’s 12775 and 13796 representing workers at the Northern Indiana Public Service Company which provides natural gas and electricity to roughly the northern third of Indiana. The chapter has 670 members who pay one dollar per month dues.

In the past this chapter has donated $50 per month to different food pantries, but in October of this year voted to increase their donation to $100 per month and to expand their giving to include any non-profit organization whose purpose is in line with SOAR.
