Local 1026 Winter Coat Drive

During September and early October the Women of Steel committee at Local 1026 in Canton, NY kicked off a winter coat drive to assist the less fortunate in our local communities.  With the help of many members of the Local and support from other employees of the Corning Inc. plant we gathered approximately 70 coats that were delivered to the Ogdensburg Neighborhood Center on October 7th. The center provides service to about 200 families each month in seven towns across the county.  They intend to hold a drive in November to gather paper and personal hygiene products for the Center.
