Women of Steel in District 4 on the Move

The the first meeting of the newly organized chapter of the Women of Steel WOS committee in New Jersey was recently held in Edison, NJ. Tammie Botelho, co-coordinator of the D4 WOS chapter chaired the meeting. The women discussed various areas of the WOS program, election activities and were introduced to those members involved with the 2008 election.

The first meeting of the Maine Women of Steel council was held March 10, 2008. Linda Fairbrother was selected as council chair.

In attendance was the president of the state AFL-CIO, the president of the state CLC, a couple of representatives from Labor 2008 and representative that spoke on universal healthcare.

Also attending was the Council Chair for the New Jersey Women of Steel Council, Maria Alvarez
