Local 878L in Union City, Tennessee proved again its activism by winning the National Rapid Response Award for the best producing Rapid Response Team in the United Steelworkers during the USW Convention.   Local 7655 from Collierville, Tennessee had the most signatures of any Local in D9, over 2,286, on petitions for the Employee Free Choice Act Action Call.  

Local 878L and Local 7655 show the Leadership and drive that is required to let our politicians know what and how our members feel about a particular issue” stated Stan Johnson, Director of District 9 “we are proud of the work that these members do for all working men and women and honored to have them in our District.”
