What's a parent to do? It seems like every week we hear more about imported toxic children's products, from lead-laced vinyl bibs to lead-tainted wooden trains and action figures. One thing a parent can do is check out the United Steelworkers' new campaign "Protect Our Kids--Stop Toxic Imports." The new initiative aims to inform and educate families about the dangers posed by toxic imports, and the campaign will distribute thousands of lead screening kits. It also focuses on flawed U.S. trade policies that are behind the flood of dangerous imports, from toys to pet food to seafood to toothpaste.
