All it took was a phone call from retiree Bobby Cole to Willie Campbell, Local 0113 President to get the ball rolling.  Willie called the SOAR office in Pittsburgh and asked them to send Bobby the information on how to get started.  Once he received it he contacted Steve Skvara, a member on the District 7 SOAR Executive Board who asked Ray Kizzee the District SOAR Coordinator in the area to get the process started.

On October 20, 2005, the Chapter held their first meeting where Steve and Ray presented their Charter. SOAR International Secretary-Treasurer, Charlie Averill, attended the meeting and administered the oath of office to the newly elected officers that were elected by acclamation by the nearly 80 retirees in attendance.

The Chapter has over 120 enthusiastic members that are excited about being involved with the premier advocacy for union retirees and stand ready to the join the fight to protect and preserve the quality of life for all retirees.
