One of today’s top labor law scholars is putting members-only, collective bargaining back into the public spotlight.
The man who wrote the book -- literally -- is Charles J. Morris, Professor Emeritus of Law at Southern | Methodist University, who has been outspoken in his support of members-only bargaining.
Morris has written a book entitled "Blue Eagle at Work: Reclaiming Democratic Rights in the American Workplace." This work has drawn considerable attention among labor unions, their supporters and opponents.
The book provides an in-depth look at members-only bargaining and illustrates how the original National Labor Relations Act provides for -- and protects -- this right.
"Blue Eagle at Work" can be purchased at several popular Internet sites including the site of the book’s publisher Cornell University Press.
During the AFL-CIO & Michigan State University Workers Rights Conference in October 2002, Morris delivered a message entitled "Members-Only Collective Bargaining: A Back-to-Basics Approach to Union Organizing."
