USW Sunoco Workers and Leaders March Down The Streets In Philadelphia

On Thursday, February 26, 2009, USW Local 10-1 held a rally at City Hall in Philadelphia, PA. Rapid Response Coordinators, Steve Raysely, Bob McAuliffe, Phil Hughes, Mike Russo, George Piasecki joined with over 500 members of USW, along with Firefighters Union, Jobs With Justice and Jim Savage, President 10-1 / Rapid Response Coordinator along with USW Gary Beavers, John DeFazio and John Zanetti to protest Sunoco unfair bargaining tactics and their announcement to eliminate over 100 operator staff positions at the Philadelphia refinery. Union members marched down the streets of Philadelphia and delivered thousands of signatures from union members, community leaders and families demanding Sunoco maintain safe staffing levels at the Philadelphia Oil Refinery.
