Trouble With Continental Tire (Tire Dealer Survey Report)

(English) (German) (Spanish)

Continental Tire’s recent demonstrated hostility towards its USW workers follows on nearly two decades of major management failures in North America. The failures include:

(1) No development of a replacement tire market;

(2) No established dealer network in comparison to its competitors;

(3) No marketing plan to increase brand name recognition;

(4) No research and development department for products in the North American market.

CTNA claims it is on track to fix its North American problems, but many in the industry, including independent tire dealers, have gone on record stating their skepticism regarding CTNA’s ability to follow through.
