Community Contributions of USW Local 9998
In October of 2007 four of our members attended the Public Sector Conference held at the UAW Center at Black Lake in Michigan. A 21st Century “Mother Jones” Passes Away
On September 10, 2007 the world lost one of the most progressive businesswomen of our time and the United Steelworkers lost a friend with the passing of Dame Anita Roddick. Women of Steel Councils in USW District 2 have been busy with many activities:
“The Hidden Face of Globalization,” a DVD dealing with workers in sweatshops around the world was presented and discussed at all Women of Steel Council Meetings. District 8 Women of Steel Committees Assist Children of OVACO Workers
District 8 Women of Steel Committees from Locals 9423, 14300, 367 and 1693 took part in a "Back to School Party" for the children of the striking OVACO workers.
