This is USW Local 3311's entry in the Keokuk, Iowa 2009 Labor Day parade.  The theme of the parade this year was "Memories" and the Local membership made good use of the theme as they memorialized a deceased member - Larry Dieterich.  Brother Dieterich died on February 2, 2005 as the result of workplace injuries sustained when he was burned by molten metal in the foundry where he worked.  The float was a labor of love for those who constructed it - especially those who knew Larry.  The float placed first in the annual parade.
