TOXIC TRADE
Photo Results From “Ending Sweetheart Trade Deals”

On Thursday, Feb. 14, United Steelworkers, family members and community activists gathered at demonstrations at the district offices of 11 U.S. senators across the country. The events were part of the USW’s “Stop Toxic Imports” campaign that started late last year.

The USW called upon the senators to support the U.S. Food and Product Responsibility Act which was introduced in the Senate by Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio). This legislation would safeguard Americans against toxic food and products by requiring importers and companies producing the goods to carry liability insurance.

Cities where events were being hosted included Cleveland; Detroit; Augusta, Maine.; Evansville, Ind.; Midlothian, Va.;  Pittsburgh; St. Paul, Minn.; Eugene, Ore.; and Houston, Texas.

Below are photos from various events.
