Prescription Drug Program

USW-represented retirees and surviving spouses who lost health care coverage due to the bankruptcies of LTV Steel, Bethlehem Steel, Georgetown Steel and Acme Metal Products are eligible to participate in a new Prescription Drug Program sponsored by the Mittal Steel USA VEBA, effective March 1, 2005. Medicare (2006) Part B Reimbursement Benefit

Beginning in July 2006, VEBA beneficiaries and spouses are eligible to apply for reimbursement of a portion of their Medicare Part B (medical coverage) monthly premiums paid for the first six months of 2006.  Eligible beneficiaries may apply by mailing an Application Form and copy of their Medicare Identification Card to the VEBA before August 31, 2006.  The amount of reimbursement will depend upon the number of applicants and the available VEBA trust fund assets, but will not be less than $40 per month, or $240 for the six month period.
